We are delighted to announce a very exciting opportunity for music education students training to become classroom teachers (primary or secondary) who are in their final or penultimate year. In Ireland we can nominate up to two students to attend the 15th International EAS Student Forum, which will take place from 18 – 21 April 2017 in Salzburg, Austria.
EAS (European Association for Music in Schools) serves as a platform for music educators and researchers committed to developing and improving music education in schools throughout Europe. The association offers opportunities for mutual support among teachers and researchers, the exchange of ideas and collaboration. (Further information about EAS is available on https://eas-music.org/).
The Student Forum is an established part of the annual EAS conference which will run from the 19 – 22 April. The Student Forum will include workshops, discussions, presentations and musical activities and will give student teachers the opportunity to share and exchange their experience and views of music teacher training and to explore and discuss issues which impact upon the future of music education in schools and beyond.
If you are interested in putting your name forward (or know of someone who is), please complete the attached eas-student-forum-application form and submit it to [email protected]
com no later than 12.00 on Friday 9th December. Two students will then be selected and their names will be sent to the EAS Conference Committee. It is this committee that makes the final decision regarding attendees.
